As a heavy-duty model, the 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500 is built to get the job done. Whether that job is moving the excavator between worksites or getting the hard-side camper to the lake on the weekend, this model is ready with a maximum towing capacity of 18,510 pounds when properly equipped.
This capability is courtesy of the power coming from under the hood from either the standard 6.6L V8 gas engine or the available Duramax® 6.6L Turbo-Diesel V8 engine. Both models boast incredible power, but the latter option gives you an outstanding 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque on top of improved fuel economy.
If payload capability is your top priority, the gas engine option is ideal, providing a payload maximum of just under 4,000 pounds when the vehicle is properly equipped.
