2023 Chevy Silverado 1500: Your Engine Awaits

A quartet of engine offerings are on tap for the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. So, if there’s a specific type of performance you want from your truck, the Silverado likely offers it.

The smallest motor will be a 2.7L turbocharged 4-cylinder making 310 horsepower and 348 lb-ft of torque. The remaining three engines are as follows:

5.3L V8 making 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque
6.2L V8 making 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque
3.0L Duramax I6 diesel engine with a turbocharger making 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque

The 4-cylinder and 5.3L V8 are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, while the 6.2L V8 and diesel motor are each mated to a 10-speed automatic.

As always, your drivetrain offerings include 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive, furthering the performance customizability of the truck overall.

2023 Chevy Silverado 1500: Bed Size, Cab Size, Trim Level

Beyond the engine, you want your Chevy Silverado to have the exact proportions you need for daily living. The bed size, the cab size—these are all factors to consider when truck shopping.

There are a trio of bed sizes. The short bed is the tiniest of the group, while the standard bed sits in the middle of the trio. The largest offering is the long bed which delivers commercial levels of cargo capacity and overall room. Similarly, there’s a trio of cab sizes: the regular cab, double cab, and crew cab.

Trim levels are far more diverse than either the bed or cab offerings. In total, there are 10 trim options, giving each truck shopper a chance to customize and enjoy their favorite version.
