When it comes to performance and capability, the 2022 Chevy Equinox and the 2021 Ford Escape are relatively evenly matched. This standard powertrain in the Chevrolet Equinox also comes with a maximum towing capacity of 1,500 pounds which will allow you to tow your favorite equipment to your next adventure. While you’ll be able to tow with some of the Escape’s engine options, Ford does not list a maximum towing capacity at the base level. So, it is probably not suggested you do so.

While you’ll be able to enjoy a few of these features in the 2021 Ford Escape, like the smartphone app integration features, you’ll completely miss out on the Surround Vision feature. The best the Escape can do is a Rear View Camera, which can’t provide nearly as much visibility.
