Local Art Galleries Columbus OH

If you’re looking for an enriching way to spend an afternoon next weekend, consider one of the many art galleries we’re lucky to have here in the Columbus, OH, area. That’s right, the local art scene is alive and well in Columbus! We’ve listed three of our favorite galleries below.

Brandt-Roberts Galleries

Brandt-Roberts Galleries showcases diverse works of contemporary and post-war art from emerging and established Ohio artists. They display artists who work in a variety of mediums, like watercolor and sculpture.

There are monthly exhibitions, too, featuring artists’ receptions. Each month showcases one of their many artists, like Impressionist painter, Mark Gingerich. Be sure to join them on the first Saturday of each month for a Gallery Hop in collaboration with many other galleries.

The Hayley Gallery

The Hayley Gallery has been a major player in the Columbus art scene since 2007, featuring over 65 emerging and established local artists. They display art in many mediums, including painting, wood, glass, photography, and even accessories.

In addition to showcasing artists at their weekly events, they also do custom framing and provide interior-design services. We recommend checking out some of the goings-on at this gallery, like artist showcases, Psychic Saturday, and events supporting the local community.

Studios on High Gallery

Voted “Best Gallery” four years in a row by Columbus Monthly, Studios on High Gallery (SOHG) is an artist-owned and -operated gallery that’s been showcasing immense talent since 1987. It’s a juried gallery of 22 artists who blend fine art and craft in many mediums including mosaics, ceramics, and jewelry. Artists work on-site during gallery hours.

They have, twice-yearly, an open-call juried exhibition; it is open to artists over the age of 18 who are residing in Ohio. This is a month-long show that puts accepted artists’ work on sale. They also have group exhibitions every month throughout the year and they participate in the monthly Columbus Gallery Hop.
