Brake Rotors Are Vital to Your Car’s Brakes

Your Chevy Silverado has a rotor (a heavy metal disc) on the axle, which spins with the wheel. When you hit the brakes, the pads are squeezed against the sides of that rotor, letting friction slow down the rotation and thereby slowing you down. While these rotors aren’t meant to degrade like pads are, they can take a little wear and tear during the braking process. If your rotor has the space for it, it can be machined down a small amount to become even again; this is known as resurfacing. If we can’t resurface your worn rotors, we’ll make sure they’re replaced with the right OEM parts.

But they also wear away, and they generally have a piece of ma terial that starts making a squealing sound when they’re too thin.
