What is the Community Shares of Mid Ohio?

Community Shares of Mid Ohio is a large coalition of non-profit organizations that work collaboratively to better the central Ohio community. Each one of these organizations as well as Community Shares of Mid Ohio as a whole, operate on four core values:

• Stronger Together
• Donor First
• Working for the Future

With these core values in mind, they strive to better the community by solving an array of issues within the community. Using funds that they raise through donations, they help feed the hungry, increase health, provide education, and more.

Community Shares of Mid Ohio works with more than 60 local nonprofits—including ones that focus on animal welfare and rights, civil action and justice, fighting hunger, and more—to better the lives of those living in central Ohio. No two organizations share the exact same mission, so this broader organization can cast a wide net of assistance in mid Ohio.

How Can You Get in On the Fun?

The goals of Community Shares of Mid Ohio are consistently met thanks to those who donate time and funds to their cause. You can get involved in a couple of different ways, starting with making a direct donation to the cause. Donations can easily be made through their website or through their Facebook.

If you’re a bit more hands-on, you can set up a workplace campaign. A workplace giving campaign gives employees the opportunity “to make tax deductible donations to Community Shares member charities.” They have the choice between a one-time donation and repeat payroll contributions. Contributing just $1 a paycheck can make a world of a difference.
