Local Spotlight: Orphan World Relief
Back in 2008, Orphan World Relief was started with the goal to help homeless and orphaned children in the Ukraine. Over the years, though, they have grown even bigger in their mission. Thanks to the hard work and efforts of their team, as well as the generous contributions from the local community, their mission has expanded to help the millions of orphaned and at-risk kids throughout the entire world. Through their selfless actions, they continue to help provide for countless orphan children in all corners of the globe!
What They Do
While they started out as an organization that helped financially support other well-run programs, Orphan World Relief now has its own programs and services for children both in the United States and around the world.
One of them being Children First Family Services. This service, through support groups, training, and more, helps strengthen the connections between children and their foster or adoption family. Another great program they have is My Comfy Kits. With hundreds of thousands of children in the foster system in the country, they help by providing what they call Comfy Kits. These are backpacks full of age-appropriate items that help bring more comfort and love to these children’s lives as they make the transition into foster care!
They also aim to help children that age out of the foster system. With their Foster to Adult program, they can help prepare these kids for the transition to adulthood with everything from career support to essential life skills that are important for everyone to know.
Additionally, to help make sure that all orphans and at-risk children around the globe have the basic needs of good nutrition, a safe place to live, and education, they have made their Children in Crisis program to aid other organizations around the globe. By supporting orphans in Ukraine, Greece, and many other countries, they help ensure kids throughout the world have what they need to live a happy and healthy life!

The positive impact Orphan World Relief provides for kids locally and throughout the world wouldn’t be achieved without the generosity and efforts of their community. Through donations, you can help with their efforts to feed children in Honduras, provide a My Comfy Kit for kids entering foster care, and even help kids in India get the educational resources they need.
