Coalition on Homelessness & Housing in Ohio

The Coalition on Homelessness and Housing in Ohio was first founded at the Ohio Housing Coalition in 1974. Twenty years later, they consolidated their efforts with the Ohio Coalition for the Homeless and have been making great strides towards creating affordable housing opportunities on Ohio ever since.

There’s a number of ways to get involved with the Coalition on Homelessness and Housing in Ohio. Their volunteer opportunities change throughout the year, but have offered opportunities for people to volunteer to drive people to the polls, answer election-related questions via their election hotline, and more. 

Columbus Gives Back

Columbus Gives Back is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that specializes in connecting volunteers with many types of opportunities in the Columbus area. For nearly ten years, this organization has been helping volunteers in Columbus find opportunities that fit with their professional schedules.

The Homeless Families Foundation

The Homeless Families Foundation operates on the mission statement of “Not One Child. Not One Night.” They’re actively working towards breaking the cycle of homelessness by providing homeless families in the Columbus community with support so they can get back on their feet.

You can help The Homeless Families Foundation achieve their goals to end family homelessness in Columbia by volunteering for one of their many events like Hope Takes Flight. You can also participate in other acts of volunteerism with them like organizing the food pantry, assisting at the front desk, and being a child mentor.
